- DESCRIPTION The insured machine is a 2007 Atlas Copco RD20III drill rig on a five axle Crane Carrier chassis. Chassis serial number 1CYDGV5857T047749 Drill serial number 21053 Engine (lower) Caterpillar C13-380 horsepower Engine (upper) Caterpillar 3412 direct drive Options and Equipment HR2.5 Series compressor - 1250 cfm @ 350 psi Range 3 tower package 7 rod loader 60 gallon injection lubricator 25 gallon water injection pump Tattle tale indicator Storage box under cooler The hour meter reading is estimated to be 13,102 DAMAGES The machine sustained damage as the result of a collapse of the drill head. The drill head was elevated to what appears to have been closest to its highest position which would have been around 100 feet. The two feed cylinders which lifted the drill motor, and which are also approximately 100 feet when telescoped, collapsed. The collapse of the feed cylinders caused the drill motor to tear out of the derrick. The derrick was bent in several areas. The drill head crashed to the ground bending the table and some of the drill rods. ADDITIONAL SALVAGE INFORMATION The lower engine went bad shortly after the accident and has since been reconditioned.
