1991 Caterpillar EL200B excavator. Serial number 5EG01153. Hours on machine at the time of loss approximately 7500. Fire started in the engine compartment and then spread to the cab assembly. No damage to boom, jib, bucket, or thumb. Hydraulic lines intact. Undercarriage and swing bearing show no fire damage. Fire may have originated from electrical short in positive battery cable near starter. Evidence of sawdust/bark buildup around battery box. Market value prior to loss $39,500.
